Calling all bathroom innovators – it’s the BMA Sustainability Awards

The judging panel for the second category in BMA’s Sustainability Awards is being revealed.

The awards are made up of five categories, and each one will be a pat on the back for BMA members who are driving change and reducing their environmental impact.

The second category – THE WATER EFFICIENCY AWARD – is open to bathroom manufacturers who are tackling one of the first effects of climate change – water scarcity.

Over 60% of domestic water consumption is in the bathroom, so our sector has a large role to play in improving water efficiency.

This award will recognise innovations that maintain consumers’ bathroom experience while improving water efficiency.

The panel of three specialist experts are – Tom Andrewartha, Chair, Water Efficiency Network, Water UK; Jacob Tompkins, Co-founder, The Water Retail Company, and Yvonne Orgill MD, Unified Water Label Association.

Tom Andrewartha, said: “We know changes in bathroom designs can make big differences in water consumption, whether it’s showering, taps or toilets, water-intensive activities in the home are under the spotlight like never before.

“When engineers and manufacturers apply creativity and innovative thinking, we have the power to minimise the water consumption of bathrooms across the world.”

The judges will be rating the quality, the potential water saving and the innovativeness of the product

BMA has created the awards this year to celebrate achievement and acknowledge the importance of the sustainability as a priority topic in our industry.

Individuals, projects, team entries and company submission can all be made, and you can make multiple different entries.

The sponsor for the Water Efficiency Category is the Unified Water Label Association.
